Red Kite

I would never claim to be a wildlife photographer. All my previous attempts at bird photography have been mostly unpublished – I think there is one photo of a pigeon on my Flickr – however, last weekend my losing streak ended. I was out in Windsor Great Park and encountered an obliging Red Kite that was circling slowly above me. Luckily I’d taken my long zoom lens with me, and after a bit of editing I got a good result…

The most important thing now is not to want to spend money on good wildlife lens – that would set me back £4,000!
