Strangely a lot of the photographers I have met are tall. I am 6ft and I think all the professional photographers I know, who aren’t women, have been taller. It’s true that there is an advantage in a higher perspective, but crouching down to get a different angle is a long way down as well! (Perhaps that is merely my inherited dodgy knees complaining…) Certainly looking down on the world can be fun, and make you view things differently. This photo was taken from the top of the Cologne Cathedral. The symmetry of the turning land-train amidst the angular German streets is striking, made even more so by the vibrance of the vehicle. Perspective is more often than not a good thing.
